Riverside Rhythms

The Riverside Rhythms program introduces our children to a variety of music with roughly six mini concerts during the year at lunch time. These events are designed to allow our children to sit back, relax and enjoy some music while they eat their meal, with the goal of expanding children’s exposure to diverse music and culture. All performances are made possible with donations to the PTA. We will share the details here as the year progresses.

Riverside School Music program - A Joyful Noise
Riverside School offers students an excellent musical education. All elementary students Kindergarten through 5th grade attend weekly music classes with Jessica Punchatz.  In 3rd grade, students have the opportunity to study a stringed instrument with Barry Hoffman, and 4th graders can join the chorus under Ms. Punchatz’s direction and learn a band instrument with Douglas Chew. There are performance opportunities throughout the year before a variety of audiences. Performance teaches children how to compose themselves in group settings and instills the discipline needed to learn the assigned songs and perform them together in a loving supportive environment. 5th Grade school play
Calling all thespians in 5th and 4th grade for the annual school play. Every year the 5th grade and some 4th graders put on a show, with only two weeks of intense rehearsals. For those able to participate, it is a wonderful experience and a little taste of how to put on a show and all that that encompasses. Registration begins in the fall followed by auditions and then the performance is usually around MLK weekend. Additional information will be available here closer to the event. Past performances include Peter Pan, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.
