Each year we strive to host in-school events and create resources that support each child's multifaceted wellbeing: emotional, mental, physical, and social.  For the 2024-2025 school year, we are planning some exciting events, outlined below.  More detailed information to follow as the timing gets closer to each event.

Nutrition Week

Mar 17 - 21

Taste the rainbow! All GPS school cafeterias will incorporate specific colorful, fresh fruits and vegetables into the lunch menu for students to taste and explore. If your children bring lunch from home during Nutrition Week, they can participate by bringing in “color of the day” fruits and veggies: Monday (Red), Tuesday (Yellow), Wednesday (Orange), Thursday (Green), Friday (Purple/Blue).
Run Across America

2023-2024 dates:
May 6 - May 8

 

 

2024-2025 dates:

TBD

Students collectively run/walk across the country (via laps around the school field), and we will track their progress on a map displayed to the right of the mural in the school entryway. Students will be running/walking during recess and the event is structured as a grade level competition for extra motivation! Parents are invited to run with their kids and earn miles for their child's grade.
