WELCOME BACK, RIVERSIDE FAMILIES!

We hope you had a great summer and are ready to dust off the sand and pack up those backpacks for another year at Riverside! We’re ready to see the halls buzzing with students and teachers, and we’re especially excited to welcome Ms. Collette into her new role as Principal and Ms. Weir as Assistant Principal. Here are a few things to keep on your radar as we gear up for the first few weeks of school:

☐ Join the PTA or renew your PTA membership and update your Directory information. Create or update your RIVPTA.org account with your family contact information, including your child’s 2026-2027 teacher.

☐ Add money to your child's lunch account via MySchoolBucks. If you are setting up the account for the first time, you will need your child's school identifier, which can be found on Aspen.

☐ Register for the Early Morning Program, which will start on Monday, August 31 and will be offered every weekday morning thereafter from 7:15am-8:30am. 

☐ School Photo Day will be held on Monday, September 14. 

☐ Add these upcoming dates to your calendar:

• Monday, September 7 - No School, Labor Day
• Friday, September 11 - New Families Coffee
• Friday, September 11 - 5th Grade Parents Coffee
• Monday, September 14 - School Photo Day
• Thursday, September 17 (evening): Open House (parents only)
• Monday, September 21 - No School, Yom Kippur
• Tuesday, September 22 - Fall Afters Starts
• Wednesday, October 7 - PTA Fall General Meeting
• Friday, October 30 (evening) - Boo Bash
• Friday, November 6 (evening) - School Fundraiser at The Loading Dock

 Registration begins September 9 at 7:00am and runs through September 14 on 11:59pm

5TH GRADE PARENT COFFEE

All 5th grade parents are invited to join us for coffee and learn about all the amazing things happening during the 2026–2027 school year! We have big plans, big ideas, and—most importantly—need parent volunteers to help make it all happen. Come hear what’s ahead, get involved, and help make this a fantastic year for our 5th graders!

WINTER MUSICAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - GRADES 4 AND 5

 

 

 

Our 2027 Winter Musical and the production timeline will be announced very soon, and we need YOUR help to bring it to life!

 

The Winter Musical is made possible by parent volunteers and cannot happen without them. 

 

• WHAT: We are in need of parents to help lead committees that help with costumes, props, sets and rehearsals. 
• WHO: 4th and 5th Grade Parents
• WHEN:  Varies per committee, Production dates are Friday January 15 and Saturday, January 16 
• WHERE: Please refer to the list of committee descriptions for more information on roles and responsibilities.

2026 SUMMER READ:

• WHAT: This year’s Summer Read Initiative will take students on a journey through America’s history! Below are the Summer Read Books and suggested grade levels:

  • Revolutionary War on Wednesday by Mary Pope Osborne (1-5)
