40th Annual Riverside Run!

 

Race Day is Saturday, May 10th. The 3-Mile Run ($30 to register) starts at 8:30am, and the Kids Fun Run ($15 to register) starts at 9:30am. Register here today. 

 

The Riverside Run is a community event that takes participants on a scenic three-mile course through the neighborhood of Riverside. It also includes a series of “Fun Runs” in front of Riverside School for all children in grades K-5. Proceeds benefit the Riverside School PTA. Shirt Design Contest Winners Announced

 

 

     

 

Thanks to all the students who submitted entries for the 40th anniversary tee-shirt design contest. Principal Martin and Collette were so impressed with the creativity of all students! 

 

Congratulations to Sawyer H. for creating the first place design that will be featured on this year’s T-shirts!  Coming in a close second was Avery W. and Emma F. took third place.

Volunteer for the PTA Next Year

 

The Riverside PTA is an active volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the education of our students and the needs of our school community. Volunteering is a terrific way to engage with the school and community. We are now filling a variety of PTA volunteer roles for the 2025-2026 school year. 

 

Please review our open roles and complete the volunteer interest form to express interest in one (or more) of our volunteer opportunities! Whatever your interests or availability, we have many ways for you to contribute and make a positive impact. 

  

Get Ready for
Earth Week 2025

 

 

Get ready to celebrate our planet with another fantastic Earth Week! From April 21-25, we'll be focusing on the important theme of "Respect Nature" through a variety of engaging initiatives for students and families.

Riverside's "Run Across America"
is Back!

Riverside will face the challenge of running across America while training for the upcoming Riverside Run! From May 5-7 during recess, students will run or walk laps, which will be tracked collectively to see how far we, as a school, can get across the country.

 

There will also be a grade-level competition - the grade that runs/walks the most miles will earn a special prize! If you plan to register your students for the Riverside Run on May 10th, or already have, the Run Across America event can serve as the perfect conditioning opportunity! 

 

Next Phase of the Renovation Project

Has Been Funded by the BET

 

 

The BET unanimously approved $2 million for Architecture & Engineering (A&E) funding in FY26 for the next phase of the Riverside School renovation project. The BET also earmarked $41.5 million for Construction in its FY27 capital plan. Inclusion in the capital plan does not guarantee Construction funds will be appropriated but it does signal that, at this point in time, the BET supports the project.

 

Advocacy from our community is the reason this project continues to progress. We will need to mount an even bigger effort next year when Construction funds are expected to be appropriated. Visit the renovation webpage for additional information.

Visit the online apparel store and support Riverside School by showing your school spirit! Orders placed before Wednesday at 8:00am are sent home from school with your eldest Riverside student that afternoon (orders placed after then will be sent home the following Wednesday). Go Red Hawks!
