5th GRADE YEARBOOK

The 5th Grade yearbook is a wonderful memento of our 5th graders’ time at Riverside. Please pass along all of your great photos from their past 6 years!

1) Parents collect and submit photos: Until December 18th, we are collecting pictures from your 5th grader’s years at Riverside, including photos from field trips, concerts, first day of school, and PTA activities such as the Boo Bash and Riverside Run. In addition, we are collecting “At-Home Learning” photos from March to June 2020. Please see the Yearbook page for detailed steps on uploading.

2) Students create their individual page: Your 5th grader will create his/her own student page (Instructions will be sent out after February break).

3) Parents order yearbooks: Order a yearbook for your 5th grader online (February or later, TBD).

IN-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Revolutionary War Day - May 23rd: Our 5th graders will step back in time as Riverside School welcomes the 6th Connecticut Regiment to help conclude their year-long study of the American Revolution. The Regiment will bring history to life with immersive demonstrations, offering a window into military and civilian life during the period. Students will engage with presenters dressed in authentic period attire and displaying artifacts that showcase the roles of soldiers, surgeons, and women on both the home front and the frontlines.

5th Grade Fun Day - June, TBD: 5th graders will receive their yearbooks and collect signatures during a fun day outdoors with food and games.

DROP-OFF AFTER- SCHOOL ACTIVITIES FOR 5th GRADERS ONLY

Gaga Night - Feb/March Date TBD: Our gym teachers, Bill Bogardus and Jay D’Andrea, will host an evening with pizza and fun gaga ball competitions. 

End of Year Pool Party - Last day of school/TBD, 1:30-3pm This drop-off event is held at Riverside Yacht Club, usually on the last day of school*. Pooltime and snacks together as the kids finish off the year!

PARENT PARTY FOR 5th GRADE PARENTS

Calling all 5th Grade parents! Save Saturday, June 7th from 7-10pm for a night out with parents and teachers to celebrate moving up to middle school. Lindsay and Peter Snedeker are graciously opening their home for this fun evening. Details to follow. 

RECOGNITION DAY & END OF YEAR PARTY

The 5th Grade Recognition Day / Graduation will take place at the end of the school year in June* on a weekday morning. The ceremony will be followed by a casual reception with drinks and treats. Details will be updated as the event date approaches. 

* If GPS has 5 snow days, the last day of school will be on June 23rd.
