Welcome to the 2023-24 school year!

Navigating schools when your child has additional needs can be daunting, especially if you are new to the process or the district. You can find a wealth of information about the Special Education and Pupil Personnel Support Services (PPS) for the district here. 

In addition to the administrative and staff support provided here at Riverside School, you also have SES (Special Education Support) reps within the PTA who you can turn to for help. We are parents at Riverside with children who have IEPs and/or 504 plans.

We would like to introduce the Riverside PTA Message Board for SES (Special Education Support - aka EDS: Educational Differences Support).  We will periodically update the board with important information and announcements as well as opportunities for us to connect with each other. In addition, we will keep a running list of upcoming local events and webinars that might be of interest at the end of each message. (requires updated login to rivpta.org)

Subscribe to the SES Message Board

You can opt-out anytime. All signups are confidential. Once you signup, pending verification you can access the SES Message Board directly by logging in to RIVPTA.org or your Membership Toolkit App and under “Message Boards”.   You will automatically receive an email every time a new message is posted, but can easily find or revisit them on the message board as well.  

Here are just some of the ways we can help you:

• Provide communication to and from district-wide SES (Special Education Support) meetings. These meetings involve the reps from all GPS schools and are intended to share information and questions between parents and administration. Riverside reps want to be sure to represent all Riverside students who have IEPs/504 plans, so please feel free to connect with them at any time.
• Answer basic questions and connect you with the right resources regarding your child’s IEP/504 plan services and services offered within the district
• Provide support and a community as fellow parents navigating school with children who have learning differences
• Provide information on upcoming lectures and available services for your child (inside and outside of school)
