Summer Read:
Start Your World Tour!
Check out this year's Where in the World? Summer Reading List that includes stories from around the globe, spanning a variety of genres, reading levels, and perspectives.
Later this week, students will be provided with a map of the continents and a reading log. Students should aim to read a book from each of the seven continents over the summer, coloring in the continent when they read a book whose setting, author or main character is from a country in that continent.
At the end of the summer, students will turn in their colored maps and reading logs to be entered into a raffle. Winners will be selected in each grade. Please see the June 11th email for additional details.
Renovation Project Update:
Establishing a Building Committee
Next up for the Riverside renovation project is establishing a building committee, which supervises all aspects of the project and is generally comprised of 5-7 voting members. The application and interview process is managed by the First Selectman. The town will seek volunteers who are knowledgeable with various aspects of construction or town government, school parents.
GPS will share information about the application process once it becomes available. If you are interested in being considered for the building committee, we encourage you to apply! For more information, see the renovation webpage.
